The equivalent in German for, e.g., the state of Hesse, could be the "Hessische Landeskriminalamt" or the "Hessische Bereitschaftspolizei" or the "Hessisches Polizeiverkehrsamt", depending on context! State Police oder Polizei Explanation: Du kannst entweder den Begriff State Police lassen, denn eine spezifische Eindeutschung macht wenig Sinn, da die die Struktur der US-Polizei zu sehr von der deutschen Polizei abweicht, oder du verwendest einfach den allgemeinen Begriff Polizei, denn in Deutschland spricht man nicht von der Bayrischen Staatspolizei sondern einfach von der Bayrischen Polizei, wie das folgenden Beispiel verdeutlicht. Original: "Die Bayerische Polizei erhielt Hinweise, daß sich ein Araber, der lt. US-Erkenntnissen dem engen Umfeld von Bin Laden angehören soll, in Deutschland aufhält." Übersetzung: "The Bavarian State Police received information that an Arab individual, who according to U.S. information belongs to the inner circle of the Bin Laden group, was present in Germany." Sehr vorsichtig wäre ich mit der Zuordnung bestimmter deutscher Polizeistrukturen auf amerikanische Verhältnisse, da es dort zu viele Überscheidungen und Differenzen gibt und darüber hinaus die Strukturen auch innerhalb Deutschlands nicht eindeutig sind, sondern vom jeweiligen Bundesland abhängen.
