English term or phrase: pre-assigned / post assigned
Hi all,

from a manual of an automated blood typing system.

The terms appear repeadly and sometimes take the form "pre-" and "post-assignment"

Pre-assignment means that the instrument's software is used to link the Sample ID to the Card and Diluent IDs prior to performing the test, and to direct the operator through the process.

Post-assignment means that the test is performed independently of the instrument and the card is presented to the instrument's camera at the completion of the test process. The Sample ID is linked to the Multicard and Diluent ID’s at the reading stage.

I have found the following link http://www.patent-de.com/20080918/DE69133586T2.html, which talks about "vorzugeordnet" and exactly one ghit for "nachzugeordnet" but was wondering if there was a better way.

Thank you.
