English term or phrase: wine
"Bronze sculptures on pedastals line the wine."

This is the sentence I copied from the file. The author seems to be a native English speaker but the text is obviously a bit sloppy. I have no idea what "wine" means in this context.
This is a caption to a picture that I don't know. The whole thing is a description of the house of an art collector.

Explanation:
Maybe he has a vineyard and there is a spelling mistake and it should be that the sculptures are positioned alongside the VINE? Really just a guess.

Explanation:
Well, I dunno 'bout France, but I keep my "wine" on shelves, and always have done.

I think the author merely meant that there are sculptures lining the shelves on which the wine is stored. Why not? I'm amused by the "ped*A*stals" too....

Shelves, also of course known as "wine-racks". "Lining the wine" may of course be a subtle method of telling us that the racks or shelves are full, mayn't it?
