Reference: Das Web ist voll davon Reference information: Variation Margin Gains Haircutting (“VMGH”) being applied at the end of the default waterfall https://recoveryandresolutionplans.wordpress.com/tag/variati... Two main tools seem adequate to manage “end-of-the-waterfall”. Firstly, the Variation Margin Gains Haircutting (“VMGH”) which could be seen as a robust recovery and continuity mechanism which will operate as part of the default waterfall following the exhaustion of all other layers. VMGH allows the CCP to distribute remaining losses by recourse to pro rata unpaid gains at the beneficial owner level. The second tool, which could be run in parallel with VMGH, is the Initial Margin Haircutting. Both tools are not optimal for participants but better than forced allocation, forced partial or general tear-up. http://www.riskdynamics.eu/blog/ccp-or-theoretically-systemi...
