Wie könnte man den Satzteil "He "bragged in brick" and timber ..." (letzter Satz unten) am besten übersetzen? Ich habe zwar einen Ansatz, aber ich hätte gerne andere Vorschläge, um sicher zu gehen.

agree  Thomas Pfann: „Reichtum zur Schau stellen“ ja, aber das Baumaterial würde ich unter den Tisch fallen lassen (klingt bemüht und nicht idiomatisch). Das Haus erbaute er übrigens nicht „im tpyischen Stil von Georgia“, sondern im georgianischen Stil.
