English term or phrase: build up internal defenses

Well, I think it remains to be seen, but I think James brings up a good point about how investors build up these ***internal defenses***. And as you think about the trade war with China, I think that it's very much applicable to that. Now. People have more or less become accustomed to this. If you go back to when this phase one trade agreement with China was really hashed out a point that we had always made is that just because you come to an agreement doesn't mean it's a done deal. It's very much of an iterative process. You're going to have some fits and starts and just because you have an agreement, well now you go through the process of implementation, monitoring, enforcement, accountability and so forth. And so it's going to be a long slog. And to the extent that that resurface itself in a material way, I don't think it would really be surprising to too many people. And as you think about those ***internal defenses*** as James described them, I mean it's, people have largely come to expect that.
