set of chambers; chambers eine (Schwerpunkt-)Kanzleigemeinschaft; eine Kanzleipraxis (bzw. - gebäude) Explanation: Einzelkanzlei looks good for a single area of practice, but isn't and usually denotes a one (wo-)man practice. Sets of chambers - often 'boutique practices' in Solicitor-speak - usually break down, also literally, into specialisation like a criminal, chancery (re-insurance/ insolvency law) or general commercial set with one head or co-heads of chambers. They are often to be found in *ancient buildings* within the 4 Inns of Court, but not always e.g. outside in *modern offices* in London on Clerkenwell Green. Chambers are also a short form of vernacular for a single set, but also denote the building e.g. 4 Paper Buildings is an address of mixed 'chambers' at the Inner Temple, but not of a single set. 'Barristers in England and Wales are one of the two main categories of lawyer in England and .... Members of the same set of chambers may appear on opposite sides in the same case.' - in my Paper Building case, Counsel at the top may not be members of the same set at the bottom. I have never heard of housewives etc. practising as Barristers from home - this model of 'chambers' is now acceptable - described as running a 'set'. In the Yellow Pages of telephone directories, they are listed as 'individual Barristers'. Example sentence(s):
