4 | expellerpressen / expellergepresst / kalt gepresst |
|
expellerpressen / expellergepresst / kalt gepresst Explanation: Expeller pressing is a chemical-free method whereby oil is mechanically squeezed from raw materials in a single step, under high pressure. An expeller press is a screw type machine, which presses oil seeds through a caged barrel-like cavity. This machine uses friction and continuous pressure from the screw drives to move and compress the seed material. German websites use the term "Expeller' to describe the residue (cake) that is left after processing. "Als Expeller werden die Pressrückstände von Schneckenpressen bezeichnet." See www.agrarplus.at/pflanzenoel/pdf/broschuere_pflanzenoel_tre... The expression 'kalt gepresst' only applies to processes in which the temperature does not exceed about 35 °C. |
