English to German translations [PRO] Philosophy
English term or phrase:This too shall pass
This is in the context of a young adult still dealing with her mother's death which occurred years before. She gets a tattoo that says "this too shall pass"; I don't want to just say "Das wird auch vorbeigehen" since I'm sure the equivalent phrase in german isn't such a literal translation. Suggestions? (sorry about the "philosophy" category, I really wasnt' sure which category this would fit into. Thanks!)
Wiki, I ask you?!
I am afraid you might have to spill a few words of explanation in the translation, as this phrase is not so universally known in the German-speaking world, as it is in the English-speaking one. Whatever translation you shall ultimately choose, it will , in its transport of meaning, never come near #This too shall pass'.

"this too shall pass"
Auch das wird vorübergehen
Explanation: This too shall pass has a long history, dating back to ancient Persia, ancient Hebrew texts, and ancient Turkish stories. It means- in the material world, nothing is fixed, nothing is secure, nothing should be taken for granted, not happiness, not tragedy, sadness, riches ,poverty-THIS TOO SHALL PASS. In the beginning of the 19th century, this phrase was quite popular in English literature. In german, I have not found a real term, that would transport the same meaning, as the litterally feeble few words in English do, if you know the meaning. It is a bit similar to the Greek (latin transcript, as I do not know Greek) panta rei -everything flows, and the Latin sic transit gloria mundi, although both latter phrases differ greatly from the phrase in question in their deeper meanings.
