The rig can release both legs of the tow bridle by slipping the chains from the Sinit Clips. The rig can release the Smit Clip by removing the safety pin and hammering out the main pin. It is possible to do this with moderate tension still applied to the tow wire. A suitable sledge hammer will be located and secured on the bow throughout the tow.
The release procedure is the same for both the Auxiliary and the Emergency tow lines

Es geht auch beides: Wenn ein Rettungskreuzer ein kleineres Freizeitschiff abschleppt, wird dieser seine Schlepptrosse mit dem Schleppseil des Freizeitschiffes verbinden, siehe ...

Schlepptau passt nicht so gut: man nimmt etwas in Schlepptau, z.B. Havarist in Schlepptau nehmen. Das ist aber eher ein Begriff für den Vorgang des Abschleppens und nicht für das Medium (Seil oder Trosse)

Asker: Danke, Katja. Ich habe diese Frage gestellt, da ich den Begriffen TOW WIRE und TOW LINE im Text begegnet sind, die nicht synonymisch verwendet werden. Laut meinem Wörterbuch sind es Synonyme. Gibt es doch Unterschiede?
