Results showed that there are considerable differences between country- and sex-specific samples with respect to these discrepancy scores (see figure 3). Portuguese women and Italian men and women over-reported more strongly than other samples, whose reports turned out to be relatively accurate on average (which does not imply accuracy for subjects’ reports). We found that these effects are associated with gender-equity attitudes.
