Es handelt sich wahrscheinlich um Produktionsteile, bei denen die äußere Erscheinung von großer Bedeutung ist. Aber welchen deutschen Begriff gibt es hierfür??? "Designer-Teile" will ich nicht wagen. Mir fällt wirklich nichts ein! Any ideas?

I'd phrase it along the following lines:
Die Fertigung von Teilen, die als "Appearance Items" (d.h. Teile, bei denen die äussere Erscheinung von besonderer Bedeutung ist) ausgewiesen sind, ... usw.

Soweit mir bekannt ist, gibt es keine direkte Übersetzung für appearance item. Ein Appearance defect ist ein Schönheitsfehler. Wenn es meine Übersetzung wäre, würde ich es umschreiben, z.B. Teile, bei denen die optische Beschaffenheit von besonderer Bedeutung ist, und anschließend eine eigene Kurzform wählen, z.B. "Optik-Teile" oder "visuelle Teile".
