Es geht um Schmuck, und zwar um dessen "Pflege":

Der Text:

"We recommend that you have yor jewellry cleaned yearly and inspected for loose prongs, **worm mountings** and general wear and tear once a year".

Was in aller Welt sollen "worn mountings" sein? Abnützungen? Verschleiß durch Tragen? Wenn ja: Wie übersetze ich das am besten?

Wie könnte sich Schmuck durch Tragen abnützen/verschleißen? Es geht hauptsächlich hier um Diamanten/Brillianten. Die können doch nicht verschleißen/sich abnutzen.
