Αρμενικός βώλος ονομάστηκε ο κόκκινος άργιλος, πλούσιος σε οξείδια του σιδήρου, που τα εργαστήρια του Ιζνίκ εισήγαγαν από την Αρμενία μετά τα μέσα του 16ου αιώνα. Το ελαφρά ανάγλυφο αυτό κόκκινο και ο συνδυασμός του με το μπλέ του κοβαλτίου και το σμαραγδί εξασφάλισαν την μεγάλη φήμη των πρώτων πολύχρωμων κεραμεικών Ιζνίκ, στα τέλη της βασιλείας του Σουλεϊμάν του Μεγαλοπρεπούς.
