English term or phrase: insight
The improvement of linguistic skills of members of the judiciary is essential for the promotion of mutual trust and mutual confidence in the common area of freedom, security and justice. The objective of this two-day meeting, which was hosted by the Romanian National Institute of Magistracy (NIM) on 4th and 5th October, was to exchange information and experiences on linguistic training in order to examine best practices, to determine linguistic training needs, as well as to gain a better understanding of the common problems faced by linguistic trainers in Europe. The meeting was attended by members of judicial training institutes at national and decentralised levels, linguists and teachers involved in training judges and prosecutors and covered priority themes such as pedagogical methods, e-learning tools and best practice in linguistic training. The ***insight*** gained from this meeting will allow for the development of concrete linguistic training activities that will be undertaken within the framework of the Exchange Programme in 2007.

Explanation:
