Τα συστατικά μέρη του (κυρίως τρανζίστορ και δίοδοι) μπορούν να συνδυαστούν, ώστε να απαρτίσουν μια μεγάλη ποικιλία από κυκλώματα, ανάμεσα στα οποία υπάρχουν λογικά κυκλώματα και μνήμη ημιαγωγών.

Η βασική δομική μονάδα αποθήκευσης, επεξεργασίας και μετάδοσης πληροφοριών και πραγματοποίησης λειτουργιών των ηλεκτρονικών συστημάτων. Με τη στενή της έννοια η λέξη 'τσιπ' χρησιμοποιείται για το πλακίδιο ημιαγώγιμου υλικού (συνήθως πυριτίου ή αρσενικούχου γαλλίου) εξαιρετικά μικρών διαστάσεων, πάνω στο οποίο τοποθετείται με κατάλληλες τεχνικές ένα ολοκληρωμένο κύκλωμα.

When do I need to register my Mask Work? Mask works MUST be registered within 2 years of first commercial exploitation. The date of registration is the date on which a complete application, fee, and an appropriate deposit representing an acceptable filing are filed with the Copyright Office. If the Mask Work is not registered within this time period, protection under the SCPA will be lost.

Ευχαριστώ Ευδοξία για την διόρθωση. Έχεις δίκιο μια πρόκειται για καταχώριση σε βάση δεδομένων πνευματικών δικαιωμάτων και όχι για καταχώρηση σε περιοδικό. Είναι πάντα πολύ χρήσιμο να βλέπουμε την εξέλιξη των λημμάτων και την δημιουργία νέων :)
