English term or phrase: rigid and malleable probes
The XXX and ZZZ Systems contain permanent implantable devices for reconstruction of the quadriceps and patellar tendons respectively. The Systems comprise a 30 mm wide by 800 mm long Poly-Tape with an open weave polyester mesh and 20 cm rigid and malleable probes, either of which may be used at the discretion of the surgeon. The ruptured tendon is repaired by using the selected probe to thread the Poly-Tape through the soft tissue proximal and distal to the patella before securing it with a Surgeon’s knot or staple(s).
