aaloo ki tikki or aaloo cutlet

Explanation:
scalloped potatoes

Scalloped Potatoes Cooks and chefs can prepare potatoes for eating in numerous ways: either with their skin on or peeled, whole or cut into pieces, and with seasonings or without. The only requirement involves cooking — to break down the starch and make them edible. One popular way to prepare and eat potatoes, is in the form of scalloped potatoes. Scalloped potatoes are thinly sliced potatoes cooked with some form of cream sauce. Other ingredients may be added to intensify the flavor. Some common ingredients may include, onions, pepper, and margarine. Larger ingredients may also be added to change the dinamics of the meal; cheese or ham are sometimes included with the potatoes. This dish is often considered a holiday dish, and may be present at holiday feasts such as Christmas or Thanksgiving.
----
Scallop also has the following meaning:
Meaning #3: thin slice of meat (especially veal) usually fried or broiled
Synonyms: cutlet, scollop, escallop
----
Taking the above points into account, you can translate it as follows:

1. आलू की टिक्की (aaloo ki tikki)
2. आलू कटलेट (aaloo cutlet)

I think nobody in India cook or eat this scalloped potatoes(except5star hotels). The reason is very simple. We have thousands of dishes to eat and they are all matched with our culture. Is it not ridiculous to ask an Englishman to translate "Chapati"?(it cannot be bread, we know). So just transliteration of the word is better.
