Azért nem "transferred", mert abban nincs benne, hogy "wire". Azt pedig angolul beszélő nem használná, hogy "wire transferred", hanem nemes egyszerűséggel úgy mondják, hogy "wired". Egyáltalán nem szokatlan kifejezés angol nyelvterületen, sőt.

A wire transfer egészen pontosan elektronikus átutalás, ahol a "transfer" nyilván "átutalás, a "wire" pedig azt jelzi, hogy elektronikus úton továbbítják a pénzösszeget egyik bankszámláról a másikra.
