Solite stringhe software di una macchina CNC, quindi il contesto è praticamente inesistente.

"Approach" è l'avvicinamento, in particolare la velocità di avvicinamento del pezzo in lavorazione.

Subito prima ho la frase "The setting value of approximate approach speed exceeds tolerance."

Quindi questo "arbitrary" si riferisce a un tipo di velocità avvicinamento opposta a una approsimativa.. Una velocità impostata con precisione dall'operatore?

Poi, cosa intende con "velocità impostata con precisione dall'operatore?"

Si parla della velocità arbitraria, e chi l'ha impostata, non si sa. Poteva essere impostata automaticamente. Oppure dall'operatore.
L'aggiunta "con precisione" è Sua, perchè non trova alcun riscontro.

Grazie Rossinka, non conoscendo bene il settore non ero certa che "arbitraria" andasse bene...come a volte accade la soluzione più ovvia è la migliore! ;)
