Ribadisco che, come confermeranno senz'altro i colleghi esperti del campo medico, la sigla "SD" per "deviazione standard", rimane generalmente invariata nei testi medici. E del resto, basta effettuare una semplice ricerca in rete dei due termini in concomitanza (sigla ed espressione estesa), per ottenere i seguenti risultati:

"SD" e "deviazione standard" = 1.150.000 corrispondenze.

"DS" e "deviazione standard" = 27.000 corrispondenze.

Sono il primo a stigmatizzare l'anglicizzazione esasperata dell'italiano, e non solo nei campi scientifici, ma purtroppo, davanti all'evidenza dell'uso, come avviene nel caso presente, non c'è proprio nulla da fare.

E tra l'altro, il versante delle sigle mediche e scientifiche è uno di quelli in cui la prevalenza dell'inglese è davvero schiacciante. Anche considerando il solo campo della medicina, sappiamo tutti molto bene che sono rarissimi gli acronimi italiani che contendono con fatica il campo a quelli inglesi, e non si tratta certo della sigla in questione.
