Detector = rivelatore o rilevatore ??

L'ho sempre tradotto con "rilevatrore", ora ho una TM che mi porta entrambi i traducenti. Forse sono corretti entrambi, ma qual'è la differenza tra un rilevatore e un rivelatore? (...se c'è!)

Explanation:
Personalmente ho sempre preferito questa traduzione. La differenza sul piano pratico, se c'è, non la conosco, a meno di conoscenze più approfondite di altri colleghi. L'unica differenza che finora ho presente è quella semantica, sul significato letterale dei termini: "rilevatore" (= che individua) / "rivelatore" (= che manifesta).
