English term or phrase: DV (Digital Video)
"'He had read the script for XXXX and suggested that we attempt it as a DV (Digital Video) film,' recalls XXXX."
I want to know whether or not "DV" is used in Italy or whether they translate it as "VD" or "Video Digitale".
Should I cite it as "DV (Video Digitale)" or "VD (Video Digitale)"?
I'm quite familiar with film and terms such as DV.
Thanks in advance

Italian translation:DV and Digital Video
Explanation:
I have recently translated some marketing documents for DV equipment by Hitachi, so I have done recently just some research about the subject and terminology.

In Italian we commonly use DV (and also DVD, etc...) using the English abbreviations.
Definitely not VD!!

In the long form we can say video digitale, but the two languages are so similar that virtually there is no distinction between the two forms.
Everybody uses and understand the English expression.

Use Digital Video and DV for the abbreviation, no problem.
