Context:

The selected scenarios are characterizations of different seasonal climatological conditions in the examined area. A 220 meter high blocking temperature inversion (increasing temperature with increasing height) in scenario 6 was computed on the top of the mixing layer (above 80 meters). An inversion layer is a stable vertical layer which hinders the vertical ascending motion of the underlying air mass, which in this case is the warm emission plume.
