Non capisco cosa c'entrino "fuel and other uses" in questo contesto. Mi sembra un errore nel testo inglese.

"Si prevede che la crescente domanda di materie prime agricole e di prodotti alimentari possa essere soddisfatta intensificando la produzione sui terreni già coltivati" (ho omesso la traduzione di "fuel and other uses" perché non mi sembra abbia senso aggiungere alla frase "di carburante e altri utilizzi"). C'è qualcosa che mi sfugge?
