"The final important rule to remember is insurance. A player can "take insurance" when the first card drawn by the dealer is an Ace. The insurance is taken in case the dealer gets Blackjack. Insurance costs half of the original bet. If the dealer does not have Blackjack then the player will lose the insurance along with the bet he placed if he loses the hand.
