Si tratta di un sotto-titolo in un saggio di critica letteraria. Il paragrafo riguarda un gruppo di romanzi che affrontano la storia francese. Come tradurreste "engaging"? Mi è chiaro il senso, ma non trovo un'espressione accettabile.

agree  Gaetano Silvestri Campagnano: Oppure "A proposito di storia francese". "Engaging" vuol dire però, anche "avvincente", "affascinante", sebbene questo significato mi sembrerebbe strano in questo contesto. :-)

agree  Gaetano Silvestri Campagnano: Avevo pensato subito a questo significato, ma lo trovavo un po' strano in questo caso, nel titolo di un saggio letterario. Però, è anche possibile che il testo del paragrafo avvalori questa ipotesi.
