Può essere una rottura parziale (stiramento o strappo muscolare) di qualche gruppo di fibre e in questo caso facile da curare con un periodo di riposo, oppure una rottura totale di un muscolo, che si lesiona normalmente in un punto debole, come un trauma pregresso o una cicatrice, o a livello della giunzione osteotendinea.

neutral  Francesco Badolato: "Strappo" non mi sembra appropriato e "con aspetto di spirale" non è un buon italiano// Qui si parla di aorta non di muscoli. "Con aspetto di spirale" non esiste in italiano il tuo testo infatti dice "con aspetto di dissezione a spirale".

neutral  Stuart and Aida Nelson: lesion in medicine can also be a tumour. Could it be that you copy 'spirale' from my answer? Tear is a kind of a rupture but not completely and lesion is not quite the right term IMHO.// corkscrew-like = a spirale in which dictionary? :).
