L’azione degli antipiretici avviene a livello dell’ipotalamo, dove sono situati i centri nervosi che regolano l’equilibrio tra la produzione e la dispersione del calore corporeo (termoregolazione). Qualora questi meccanismi siano alterati da stati febbrili, gli antipiretici sono in grado di riportare la situazione nella norma e, generalmente, sono dotati anche di un’azione analgesica ad ampio spettro.
