Medical - Medical: Pharmaceuticals / cemento osseo iniettabile
English term or phrase: weakening

Always check the condition of the liquid before performing the procedure.
Do not use the liquid component if the ampoule shows any sign of weakening or premature polymerization.

Grazie

Improving Performance with Monomers
As the molecular weight increases in a solution polymer within a monomer type, **viscosity** increases, solubility decreases and in general compatibility with other resins decrease.

Several factors such as their chemical composition, **viscosity**, porosity, radiopacifiers and antibiotic additives, mixing methods, sterilization, temperature during handling, mechanical properties, and biocompatibility, affect the clinical performance of bone cements.

The liquid as the second component mainly contains the monomer MMA but also the second activator of the polymerization process, N,N-Dimethyl para-toluidine (DMPT) (so called accelerator), and hydroquinone as a stabilizer to prevent self-curing of the monomer in the liquid during storage.

Notes to answerer

neutral  Stuart and Aida Nelson: the links are for construction cement not for bone cement.// It says balcone - cemento and this is not about the whole cement compound but only about the liquid component. See discussion.
