Il problema è che cacciano "*dal* ghiaccio, non sulla terraferma. Se il ghiaccio marino scompare, rimangono bloccati a terra, dove c'è poco da cacciare (una conseguenza fra le altre è che si avvicinano ai centri abitati). Quindi non è che si perdono, semmai sono "persi", nel senso che non sanno più cosa fare.
