La carta si ottiene da una sospensione di acqua e materiale fibroso in concentrazione intorno all'1%. Tale impasto viene steso su una tela tessuta ad anello chiuso e l'acqua viene eliminata per drenaggio, pressatura ed essiccamento con calore.

  • L’impasto per la carta è formato normalmente da: pasta di cellulosa, pastalegno, che per altro può anche essere assente, cariche e collanti, oltre che di coloranti se si procede alla produzione di carta colorata.
