Per effettuare uno studio efficace su quest’ultimo punto si è dovuto mettere a punto una tecnica operativa che ci permettesse di valutare separatamente l’apporto dato da fibre, fini e colloidi al carico di COD. I due sistemi di ritenzione sono stati paragonati in funzione del loro comportamento nel tentativo di raggiungere gli obiettivi prefissati, tenendo sempre presente anche i dosaggi utilizzati e il relativo bilancio economico. È, infatti, interesse della cartiera avere il sistema di ritenzione più performante, ma ai fini di un ritorno economico.
