1° fase: attivazione, o eccitazione, o arousal

sul piano fisiologico, l’eccitazione di alcuni neuro-ormoni (come per esempio la noradrenalina e l’epinefrina) determina il rilascio nel sangue di sostanze ormonali (ossitocina, cortisolo, etc.) che causano aumento della frequenza cardiaca, accelerazione del ritmo respiratorio, e altre reazioni preparatorie al compito bio-evolutivo di Fight or Flight.
