Il testo, che analizza il ruolo del cattolicesimo nell'Italia fascista, contiene vari errori di grammatica e sintassi. Immagino che nella prima parte del periodo ("Apart... Italy") manchi qualcosa (potrebbe essere ad esempio "Apart from the role of the RCC in..." - precedentemente nello scritto si adduce che la chiesa ha avuto un ruolo ambiguo).

Non capisco davvero cosa possa intendersi in tale contesto per "legal attempt". Suggerimenti?
