Hi Joseph, "condizionamento" is quite common in Italian, although it's often used interchangeably with "allenamento" or "preparazione (fisica/atletica)". In your specific case, as you need to make a distinction between the two, I agree with the formula proposed by Cristina. Actually, the difference lies in the term itself, as every kind of training results in some form of conditiong (even when your training focuses on sports skills only) while the reverse is not true. I mean, you can work at coordination, cardiovascular, muscular, mental conditiong without improving any technical/sport skill. Hope I made myself clear :).
