For people in the kansai area,「カイリーっつうたら、なんやもう人間国宝みたいなもんやろ。」would do nicely. For the sake of hyojungo speakers, I have selected yours. Thanks.

agree  Can Altinbay: I think I'd omit the min (民), but otherwise, yes. And I do know who Kylie is.

  -> Thanks! I think「全国」的(zennkoku-teki)has a geographic meaning, while 全「国民的」(zen-kokuminnteki) sounds more about a people ;-)

agree  mstkwasa: I would leave 全 out - 国民的アイドル sounds most natural to me.

agree  Maynard Hogg: I was taken aback when 英辞郎 came up with "institution" for (横浜中華街)名物, but it was PERFECT for my context.

(人間)国宝

Explanation:
another alternative...

(I know, I know - this is (living) national treasure, but that's pretty much how she's thought of in this corner of the globe, and the essence of what is meant here.)

There's a huge Kylie exhibition on in Sydney at the moment (Powerhouse Museum).
