高嶺 (Takane)
Explanation:
Oh I love Akita. I have 12 dogs for my working ranch. They are sheep herders and watch dogs. However, I never owned Akita, except when I was a child.
Now for your dog, I would avoid direct translation.
After I came to know about your dog's description (please ignore my previous question to you), and if I were you, this is my pick.
I will explain.
"Takane" literally means high peak. I arrived to this name because you said your Akita is white and very independent minded.
Now high mountain peak is covered with white snow (most of the time), and also independent from the rest of the range of the mountains. Associated characteristics would be "proudfulenss" and "aloofness" among possible others.

neutral  humbird: Again too literal, and unfit for a dog name. Please think how odd it sounds.
