Hi, does anybody know how to transliterate Swedish family name "Sandsjo" in Japanese Katakana? I need to know it to translate bio of a Swedish person, but I cannot find the name in Japanese resources.

Glad that I could help.
Also I've just been told one of my Swedish friends and サンドショー would be the best option.
Since you can't really get the correct pronunciation (which is sort of a "middle ground" between O and E) using katakana, so you'll just have to compromise. While you could use either the オsound or the エ sound, I think it is more common to use the オsound accordingly.

Asker: Thank you, I'd use サンドショー this time.

Asker: Thank you again, I totally agree with you. It's not possible to reproduce foreign sounds using Katakana.
