普通は「成績をつける／採点する」だと思うのですが、主語は高校生なので、立場が逆のように思えるのですが…

やはり採点だと思います。生徒にクラス分の採点を任せたのではないでしょうか。自分の分だけ自己採点するのではなく、たくさんのペーパーを採点していますから。

Asker: すみません。引用元を間違えました。　Ｊｉｍ　Ｔｈｏｍｐｓｏｎの Cropper's Cabinです。It was almost dusky dark when I finished grading the last paper, and I was beginning to feel that don't-give-a-goldarn crankiness that sneaks up on me when I get real hungry. You know. Maybe you get the same way. You almost hope that someone'll say something to you so you can jump down his throat. I put the papers in a folder marked Miss Trumbull (English Department) Burdoc County, Oklahoma Consolidated School District ここでセリフを言っているのは、この小説の主人公で19歳の高校生、Trumbullはその先生です。
