Besides (in your explanation), the word "pagan" is alien for Japanese culture, as most Japanese are non-Christians. For that matter they are "pagans" whether they practice witchcraft or no knowledge about it (in Christian sense). Anyway, my first trans is a woman magician as opposed to "wizard - male". Second is simply a "magician". The third is Japanese counterpart of "sorcerer" or "exorcist". Japan has a long tradition of this (the last one) called "ｱ｢ﾍﾛﾆｻ(On-myou-dou), which is a way of driving evil spirits away. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 2004-05-16 23:21:01 (GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Woops, a little adjustment ---- if you want a person who practice the witchcraft, the accurate answer for it in my last example should be ｰｭﾋ粤ｱ､､ｻﾕ ¥"akuma-harai-shi¥", as ｻﾕ(shi) signifies a person.
