English term or phrase: cultural resume
Hello,

I am translating the travel related sentences(EN to JP) and came across a phrase as below:

" Your travels feed more than your soul, but your cultural resume."

It is about art and sightseeing.
I can't quite get it, especially the last part 'but your cultural resume'.

Sorry I can not provide any further info but hopefully somebody can give me any tips!

Thank you.

Japanese translation:文化体験
Explanation:
Probably it refers to a "track record of being exposed to different cultures" just like an "academic resume" shows one's track record of academic achievements.

It should have been preceded by "and enrich" instead of "but" though.

"resume" may be an erroneous word choice

Explanation:
It seems that the word "resume" may be an erroneous word choice by the (presumably non-native) English writer. You may take it as "reconstruction" or "revitalization," and transcreate it like "(ここを訪れることは)心に潤いを与えるだけでなく、新たな文化感をもたらすことでしょう。".

agree  Lincoln Hui: Also in terms of experience as well - your resume shows your work experience. Possibly the sentence intended to say "feeds not only your soul".

異文化体験

Explanation:
resume here is not good.
it is rather background, experience.

and in case of travel = it is other culture.
so
異文化 + 体験

Example sentence(s):
  • 異文化体験ノート
