My attempt:
....banjaran2 gunung, tidak lagi kenampakan profilnya, kini/menjadi sekecil/seperti busut. Tetapi sungai, yang di bumi biasanya ?dilihat/kelihatan? hanya keratan rentasnya, ..etc....

boleh tak?

Asker: ma'af Hazlinda tapi "true stature" di sini bukan bermakna " bentuk asal". Saya rasa perkataan "nyata" itu lebih tepat. I've decided to translate the final sentence thus: "Ternyatalah kini keagungannya." I think this is more true to style & fits the mood of the passage. Still, thank you for your input! Now I still need suggestions untuk ayat kedua.........
