Som mange andre geologiske og geomorfologiske uttrykk (f.eks. horst, graben, malpais, caldera, guelta mm), er dette et begrep, og derfor ikke ønskelig eller vanlig å oversette. Bedlands bør hete badlands på norsk, som det gjør i det fleste andre språk (inkl tysk og fransk)

No  Per Bergvall: Ingen av de andre geologiske og geomorfologiske uttrykkene du nevner, har sluppet til i norsk dagligtale. Når selv Lakotaene klarte å skape et eget navn for disse landområdene, bør ikke vi være noe dårligere.

  -> Nei, badlands er ikke et godt norsk ord, men språk som tysk, fransk, svensk, russisk, polsk, rumensk, ungarsk, og selv finsk bruker 'badlands'. Forøvrig tar du feil - uttrykkene jeg nevner (og flere med dem) er tatt fra lærebøker i videregående skole.
