5 | sekcja wysypiska Fresh Kills |

The Fresh Kills Landfill was a 2,200 acre (890 hectares) landfill in the New York City borough of Staten Island in the United States. The name comes from the landfill's location along the banks of the Fresh Kills estuary in western Staten Island. The landfill was opened in 1947 as a temporary landfill, but eventually became New York City's principal landfill in the second half of the 20th century, and it was once the largest landfill in the world.[1] In October 2009, reclamation of the site began on a multi-phase, 30 year, site development for reuse as Freshkills Park. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fresh_Kills_Landfill Environmental Review Process: The Department of Parks & Recreation is the lead agency in the environmental review process for the Fresh Kills Park project. Materials pertaining to the environmental review for the Fresh Kills Park project can be found on the Department of Parks & Recreation website. http://www.nyc.gov/html/dcp/html/fkl/fkl_index.shtml -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 27 min (2011-01-11 09:44:39 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Zamiast "wysypisko" może być "składowisko". |
