harmonically tonal

Grammatically, we have an adverb harmonically modifying the adjective tonal that modify the noun jazz. Altogether, we have a "kind of harmonically tonal jazz." I do not know what is meant by that term, how "kind of" functions in that sentence and why it was added. I hoped to add to the discussion, and nowhere did I refer to man, woman, or child on the street or show any disrespect to the famed musician. If anything, I am "sounding" a "note" of caution about thinking that "we" understand what the speaker may have meant. I am sure he understood what he was saying.

E, ja bym tak nie demonizowała, w końcu "harmonia tonalna" i "harmonia modalna" to nie są jakieś ekstrawaganckie koncepcje, o których nikt nie słyszał. Spłycać wypowiedź muzyka w obawie, że lud z ulicy nie wie, co to jest tonalność, nie wydaje mi się właściwym podejściem.

Harmonic tonality is a strict musical term when used properly in academic circles. Here, the hesitation - kind of- speaks to a looser interpretation of this term. Marcus Miller was not speaking of harmony and tonality but of harmonic tonality. He may not have meant those in academic terms.
