Explanation:
Czytałem we wcześniejszym tłumaczeniu tej powieści, że farmaceuta był ubrany w brudny fartuch, a ramiona miał obsypane łupieżem. Bohater pomyślał, że farmaceuci "zawsze tak niechlujnie wyglądają".
IMO przymiotnik "niechlujny"(albo przysłówek 'niechlujnie") ma sens w takim opisie. Nie wiem, czy zechcesz go użyć, bo to tamten tłumacz wymyślił.
