Gostaria de saber a melhor tradução para PRETRIAL DECISION no seguinte contexto:

"On March 12, 1998, the Judge issued a PRETRIAL DECISION, but with the same content as the one issued in February, 1998."

Encontrei PRETRIAL ORDER, que é o despacho saneador, mas não sei se tem o mesmo significado de PRETRIAL DECISION.

A decisão proferida antes do julgamento do mérito se chama "interlocutória". O conceito de "preliminar" está correto e também se trata de "pretrial", porém, no jargão jurídico brasileiro, o termo é utilizado para mandados/despachos (pretrial order), e audiências/oitivas (pretrial hearing).
