First of all, thank you for your time and effort in responding to my query.
I also think that is a very good translation although if only gets 3 hits via google.

Another possible translation is "sinal dependente da oxigenação do sangue" which seems more common (although only 9 hits) and in sites like http://worldwidescience.org/

I waited this must so I could finish this topic after a feedback from the client and in his opinion both are correct but he went with the latter.
