Please note that I was unable to find any pt_PT or pt_BR text that dealt with this matter directly, as such, my suggestion will be solely based on the following assumptions.

In NCAA Basketball, teams are sorted as per their their NET Ranking. The NET ranking of any given team is -- of course -- directly influenced by their game results.
Such results, however, are evaluated using a four-tiered system called "The Quadrant System", in which the weight (to be read as points) attributed to any given result is settled in accordance to the opposing team's NET placement and whether "your" team is playing at home, away, or on neutral grounds.

Quadrant 1 results (very valuable = good win)
Home games vs. teams in the top 30
Neutral games vs. teams in the top 50
Away games vs. teams in the top 75

Quadrant 2 results* (valuable)
Home vs. NET Top 31-75
Neutral vs. NET Top 51-100
Away vs. NET Top 76-135

Quad 3 Results (marginally valuable)
H vs Top 76-160
N vs Top 101-200
A vs Top 136-240

Quad 4 (bad loss)
H vs Top 161 or worse
N vs Top 201 or worse
A vs Top 241 or worse

With that said, whilst facing an opposing team, the higher their quadrant, the better your "win" (best attained); the lower their quadrant the worse your "loss" (best avoided).
